Multi Masters Group was founded in 1988 as a family cleaning business, known back then as Cleaning Masters. Today, the Belgian group based in Merksem has ten divisions, around 4,500 staff and an annual turnover of 250 million euros. The group has a very wide range of activities, from cleaning and garden maintenance to catering. It even has its own temping agency.

This complex organisation is strongly committed to its own software. For example, the IT team headed by Erik Geers has developed its own systems for customer management, staff management and contract management. Multi Masters Group has also built its own software for issuing and processing invoices. With obligatory electronic invoicing on the horizon, the group started looking for a Peppol solution back in early 2024. After all, it processes approximately 5,000 invoices every month.

Exceptionally smooth collaboration

Erik Geers: “We never intended to develop our own Access Point. We said from the outset that we’d look for a partner for that. After an unsuccessful project with a different partner, we soon found our way to Billit , and that collaboration went exceptionally smoothly.”

Erik knew Billit mainly as an online invoicing platform, but he was pleasantly surprised by the opportunities to link Multi Masters Group’s own software to Billit’s Peppol Access Point. Erik: “Technically speaking, it’s very straightforward, so it was easy to link it up. I’m also particularly satisfied with the professional way Billit dealt with it all. Everything was sorted out in less than a month, from our first conversation to sending the first invoices. And I also think Billit’s pricing is more than fair.”

Open structure

The most important thing for Multi Mastera Group was to be able to exchange invoices via Peppol easily, according to the rules. But Erik was also very appreciative of the possibility to make adjustments to invoices. “Right now we’re working on adding even more extra features, so that it will soon also be possible to send payment statuses and other similar information via the Peppol network, for example.”

“Another great thing is that the users of our invoicing system hardly even noticed we’d switched to Peppol. Everything happens in the background, so the users can keep on doing things the way they’re used to, in our own software environment.”

“As I see it, Billit is the absolute benchmark in Belgium today,” Erik concludes. “I’ve come into contact with many platforms and systems, but Billit is the only solution that has such an open structure. Every time I speak to a customer who is looking for a Peppol Access Point, I refer them to Billit. I can sum up our partnership in a single word: superb.”
