From concerts to weddings, from private dinners to receptions at trade fairs... With Storm Catering, Joke Zwanckaert and her partner Seth Daems conjure up the most delicious dishes for various occasions. "In our workshop in Gentbrugge, customers can go for different take-away and catering formulas," says Joke. "In April 2021, Seth and I launched together. Before that, Seth had been working in the catering business for several years, in addition to his job as a chef. Our business is running like clockwork, and thanks to Billit's billing software, we can focus on delicious cooking for customers!"

Recommended by own accountant

As with many other fellow entrepreneurs, it was Joke and Seth's accountant who recommended Billit. "He works with Billit by default, and so the switch to this software was a no-brainer" indicates Joke. "The Ghent connection is already a nice bonus!" (laughs) "After a year of intensive use, I can only list positive points about the software. Because the package is so efficient, without superfluous features, the invoicing process runs smoothly. I use Billit mainly for preparing and posting incoming and outgoing invoices, and sometimes also for reminders. I don't create quotations with Billit because, as a caterer, we often create customized invoices with menu suggestions. That is sometimes difficult to integrate into pre-programmed quotation templates."

Invoices with personal touch

Joke is very excited about the ability to personalize invoices, cover mails and letters through Billit. "It requires no effort on my part to format documents with our logo and matching corporate style. This makes our invoices look very professional. And because we value personal contact with our customers and suppliers, I like to use the accompanying communication channels offered by Billit. Communicating via Peppol may be convenient, but I still prefer to invoice a private customer after a communion party via personal mail..."

Getting rid of paperwork

"Thanks to Billit, we were able to do away with a confusing and time-consuming paperwork mess," Joke confirms. "Thanks to the scan function, I can process documents very smoothly and look them up very quickly afterwards. This saves a lot of time, which is more than welcome during busy periods!"

"By the way, I notice that the software developers spare no effort to improve existing functionality and add new features. For example, I had been looking forward for some time to the possibility of sending advance invoices. In the latest alerts from Billit, I read that this has recently become possible."

App provides additional added value

Joke also uses the app regularly, especially for scanning documents. "This tool is a nice extra on top of the software. What I would find useful here is the ability to edit invoices via the smartphone. Also adding new customers would make the app even more powerful. That's not possible for now, but no doubt that will be provided soon."

Intuitive software

Joke did not yet attend any workshops organized by the Billit team. "I have a good basic knowledge of financial-economic concepts, and am also excellently assisted by our accountant. And because using the billing software feels so intuitive, I didn't need any additional training or guidance yet. Using Billit definitely tastes like more!"
