FAQ Corporate style

  • Invoice is printed on 2 pages
    Down

Invoices are automatically created on two pages, even though the invoice only contains one order line.

This problem is usually caused by an outdated layout. The solution is to create a new standard Billit layout.

    Creating a new standard layout

Step 1: Add a new layout

    1. Go to Settings.
    2. Open the Corporate style section.
    3. Choose Invoice.
    4. At the top right, click + Add.
    5. Choose the standard Billit layout (latest version).

This lets you start from the most recent version of the standard layout.

Step 2: Copy over your old corporate style (if needed)

Want to keep your current design?

    1. Open your old layout.
    2. Copy the content of:
      • Source code
      • Style code
    3. Open the new layout.
    4. Paste the copied code into the corresponding fields.

Note: This way you keep your logo, colors and formatting, while benefiting from the improved structure of the new layout.

Why does this solve the problem?

    The latest standard Billit layout:

    • Makes sure the bottom part of the invoice is automatically pushed up.
    • Avoids unnecessary white space.
    • Prevents a second page from being created when it isn't needed.

Older layouts sometimes contain fixed margins or positioning that cause an unnecessary page break.

    Important

    • After creating the new layout, always check a sample invoice.
    • If needed, test with different numbers of order lines.
    • Don't forget to set the new layout as the default if you want to.

    Summary

When invoices are unnecessarily printed on two pages:

    • Create a new standard Billit layout via + Add
    • Copy your existing style code if needed
    • The latest layout prevents unnecessary page breaks
