When you add a customer from Norway in Billit, the VAT number has to follow a specific structure. The Norwegian VAT number (MVA number) consists of:

NO (country code)
9 digits (organization number)
MVA (VAT indicator)

Example of the correct structure:
NO123456789MVA

Step by step: adding a Norwegian customer

Go to Customers

• In the left menu, click Customers
• At the top right, click Add customer

Fill in the billing country

• Under Billing country, choose: Norway

Note: Select the country first. Only then can you enter the VAT number correctly.

Fill in the Norwegian VAT number correctly

The VAT number must be structured as follows:

• Structure:
  NO + 9 digits + MVA
• Example:
  NO123456789MVA

Note:

• Don't use spaces
• MVA must be in capital letters
• The number must contain exactly 9 digits
• Is 'MVA' missing? Then the company is usually not VAT-registered
