  • Adding a Swedish customer correctly

    When you add a customer from Sweden in Billit, the VAT number must follow a specific structure. The Swedish VAT number consists of:

    Part Meaning
    SE Country code
    10 digits Organization number or personal identity number, without a hyphen
    01 Fixed VAT suffix

    Example of a correct structure: SE123456789001

    Step by step: adding a Swedish customer

    Go to Customers

    • Click Customers in the left menu
    • Click Add customer at the top right

    Fill in the billing country

    • For Billing country, choose Sweden

    Note: Select the country first. Only then can you enter the VAT number correctly.

    Enter the Swedish VAT number correctly

    The VAT number must be structured as follows:

    Structure:
    SE + 10 digits + 01

    Example:
    SE556677889901

    Note:

    • Do not use spaces
    • No hyphen between the digits
    • The suffix 01 is always required

    Save the customer

    • Check that all details are filled in correctly
    • Click Save

    If the VAT number is structured correctly, Billit will save the customer without an error message.
