  • Multi-factor authentication (MFA)
    Down

To strengthen the security of your Billit account, you can set up multi-factor authentication (two-step verification) when you log in.

In addition to your usual password, you'll confirm your identity with a second validation method (for example, via a dedicated app on your smartphone). Thanks to this double security, stealing your login details will no longer be enough for cybercriminals to hack your account, giving your company data considerably stronger protection.

    Activation

Step 1: Download an authentication app

To generate your security codes, install an authentication app on your smartphone. You can use any of the following:

    • Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator (available on the Google Play Store for Android and the App Store for iOS).

    • Apple's built-in password manager (on iPhone, via the 'Passwords' settings secured with Face ID or Touch ID).

    Download links:

Step 2: Scan the QR code

Open the authentication app on your smartphone and scan the QR code shown on your Billit screen in the 'Multi-factor authentication' box.

Step 3: Enter the validation code

Once the QR code has been scanned, your app generates a temporary 6-digit code. Enter this code in Billit and click 'Activate MFA'. Two-step verification is now active.

    Everyday use

The next times you log in to Billit, you'll be asked for an additional login code after entering your username and password. Simply open your authentication app to get the temporary code shown under the 'Billit' entry.

Fixing the 'Invalid code' MFA error

If the platform says your MFA code is invalid when you log in, this problem is almost always caused by an incorrect time or date on your smartphone. Because the security codes are synchronized with real time, your devices must show exactly the right time.

    Requirements at a glance:

    • Date and time must be set to automatic.

    • The correct time zone must be enabled.

    • The 24-hour format must be used.

How to set up your smartphone:

Go to your phone's Settings > Date and time and adjust the following options:

    • Step 1: Automatic date and time Turn on the 'Set automatically' option. Your device will sync with the exact time provided by the mobile network.

    • Step 2: Automatic time zone Turn on the automatic time zone and check that the time zone shown matches your region (for example: Europe/Paris).

    • Step 3: Set the time zone using location (If available) Turn on this option if your mobile network tends to send an incorrect time zone.

    • Step 4: Use the 24-hour format Make sure the 24-hour format is turned on.

    What next?

    1. Close your authentication app completely, then reopen it.

    2. Try to log in to Billit again using the new code shown.

Note: Still having problems? If your time settings are correct but the error still blocks your access:

    • Check that your smartphone shows today's correct date (not just the time).

    • Restart your smartphone.
