Are you installing BillSync yourself or having an IT partner do it?
Then make sure of the following:
| Symptom | Cause / solution |
|---|---|
| Installer: "Could not download the required files..." | No internet access, or an antivirus/firewall is blocking the Billit servers. Add the addresses below to the allowlist and try again. |
| The installer keeps asking you to install .NET 4.8 | The .NET installation requires a restart. Restart the machine and run the installer again. |
| The log file shows "BasePath not defined" | No Document folder has been set yet. Open the BillSync window > Open configuration > the accountant's tab > fill in Document folder > Save. |
| The Billit connection shows Inactive/Offline | The link is missing or the platform cannot be reached. Click Connect with Billit to link it (again) and check the internet connection. |
| No files appear in the folders | Check that the service is Running, the connection is Active, and the path exists and is writable for the service account. For network shares, enter the network credentials in the configuration window. |
| The platform shows "BillSync is not responding" during the database validation | The BillSync service is not running or is not connected. Start the service in the BillSync window and validate again. |
| BillSync is not listed in Apps & features | Old installation without a registry entry. Remove it with the wizard as described in Uninstalling BillSync. |
| Windows shows the BillSync service as stopped after startup | Both services start automatically with a delay. Wait a few minutes. If the service stays stopped, start it manually and check the log files. |
Allow outgoing HTTPS traffic (port 443) from the BillSync machine to:
