This menu contains all details about your user profile. You can reach it by clicking the user icon in the upper right corner of the Billit platform.
In this block you can activate or deactivate multifactor authentication for this user.
To enhance the security of your Billit account, you can set up multi-factor authentication or two-step verification during login. This involves confirming your identity using a second device or communication channel, thereby ensuring that it is indeed you who is attempting to log into your account. This additional layer of security goes beyond simply knowing your login credentials and password, making it significantly more difficult for cybercriminals to gain unauthorized access to your account.
1. Download an authenticator
You can use the Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, or two-factor authentication for Apple ID. The Google and Microsoft Authenticator apps can be found in the Google Play Store for Android devices and in the Apple App Store for Apple devices. If your device supports it, you can also set up two-factor authentication for Apple ID using Face ID or Touch ID. Follow the step-by-step guide provided by Apple for instructions on how to do this.
2. Scan the QR code with your authenticator
Once you have downloaded the authenticator app on your smartphone, scan the QR code in the "Multi-factor authentication" section using the authenticator.
3. Enter the code from your authenticator
After scanning the QR code, the authenticator app will generate a code. Enter this code into Billit and click on "Activate MFA". The two-step verification is now activated.
When you now log in to Billit, after entering your login and password, you will also be asked for a verification code. You can find this code in the authenticator app you just installed under the 'Billit' item.
To prevent someone from easily disabling two-step verification, when disabling the security, you will need to enter the code from your authenticator app again in the 'Settings' section, then click on 'Deactivate MFA'.
