  • Adding fixed text to your document template
    Down

With fixed text in a template, you can ensure that certain information automatically appears on every new document you create, such as an invoice, quotation, credit note, order form, or delivery note. This is ideal for payment terms or a standard message.

    Short summary

In Billit, you can add fixed text to your template for each document type. This text is automatically inserted into all new documents of that type. You can place the text anywhere, even at the very bottom of the document, and easily edit or delete it later.

    Adding fixed text: step-by-step guide

    1. Go to Settings.
    2. Open Corporate Style.
    3. Select the type of document for which you want to add fixed text
(invoice, quotation, credit note, order form, or delivery note).
    4. In the template, click where you want to insert the fixed text
(for example, below the variable $Label.GeneralConditions$).
    5. Type the text that you want to appear automatically from now on.
    6. Click Save.

From now on, this text will automatically appear on every new document of this type.

Place fixed text at the very bottom of the document

Do you want the fixed text to appear at the bottom of the page? Then it is best to add an extra paragraph:

    1. Place your cursor at the very bottom of the document.
    2. A red line with a small red square (insert paragraph) will appear.
    3. Click on the red square to create a new paragraph.
    4. Type your fixed text into this new paragraph.
    5. Click Save again.

    Delete fixed text

Do you no longer wish to use the fixed text later?

    1. Go back to Settings Corporate Style.
    2. Open the same document template.
    3. Delete the text you added earlier.
    4. Click Save.

The text will no longer appear on new documents. Documents that have already been created will remain unchanged.
