Cash book

If your business works with cash transactions, you are in some countries required by law to keep a cash book. Billit lets you keep this cash book digitally.

  • Activating the cash book
    Down

Before you can use the cash book in Billit, you need to activate it. Go to ‘Settings > General’ and activate the cash book under ‘Beta functions’. Then click ‘Save’ at the bottom.

The ‘Financial’ item will now appear in the menu on the left. Below it are two submenus: ‘Bank’ (which was previously a main item) and Cash book.

When you open the cash book the first time, you can enter the start date and the opening balance of your cash book. Please note that you cannot enter transactions afterwards that took place before the start date, so be sure to check this carefully and discuss it with your accountant if necessary. Also, you will no longer be able to change the opening balance. However, you can make corrections later if you are unsure of the opening balance on the start date.
