Change a template layout

When you've chosen a template you will see the layout settings for this template below. It consists of a header - with the template name and margins above and below - and a layout screen.

You can change your invoice layout in different ways. The invoice layout always consists of three types of elements:

  • Frequently asked questions about invoice layout
    Down

Q: My invoice is spread over two pages, what can I do?
A: The PDF version of your invoice is created based on the invoice info and the template your created. The footer with the total amount and payment info is always placed at the bottom of the page. It is possible that there are empty lines on the first page of your invoice and that you have another page with empty lines until the footer. If there is not enough space for the footer on the first page, it will be moved to the second one and the free space is filled with empty order lines.

To prevent invoices being spread over different pages we recommend providing enough space for order lines when creating your templates.

A few tips to leave as much space as possible for your order lines:

    1. Put your terms and conditions in a separate PDF. You can upload it under 'My company' > 'Company' > 'Company settings'. The PDF will be added to all your documents.
    2. Avoid big banners or logos. They take up precious space. In a digital context banners or logos are only useful when someone asks for a visual version of the invoice which is less and less the case.
    3. You can reduce your font size (via the text element editor)
